About this site

You don’t have to figure this out alone.

A resource built by a parent who has sat exactly where you’re sitting — and learned a lot along the way.

I’ve been in that room.

I’m a parent of two children — one who has an IEP for ongoing special needs, and one who had an IEP for speech therapy and no longer needs it. Two kids, two very different journeys through the same system.

I know what it feels like to sit across from a table full of educators and specialists, nodding along to terminology you’ve never heard, trying to ask the right questions while also just holding it together emotionally. I know the guilt of wondering if you advocated hard enough. And I know the relief — and the joy — of watching a child work hard, get the right support, and thrive.

“Watching my daughter outgrow the services she once needed was one of the most extraordinary things I’ve ever witnessed. It showed me what the right support, at the right time, can do.”

That experience — of seeing both sides — is what drives this site. Not every child’s path looks the same. Some kids will need support for years. Some will surprise everyone. All of them deserve parents who feel equipped to fight for them.

This site exists because I wish something like it had existed for me.

Plain-language guidance for real parents.

Everything on this site is written to be clear, honest, and actually useful — no jargon, no fluff, no content that assumes you already know what an IEP is. Whether you’re brand new to this process or you’ve been through a dozen meetings and still feel lost, there’s something here for you.

You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need a starting point.

This site is for parents and caregivers of children with IEPs — whether your child has a diagnosis or is still being evaluated. It’s for first-timers who don’t know where to begin, and for experienced IEP parents who want a second opinion or a better way to prepare.

It’s for the parent who cried in the parking lot after a meeting. For the one who said yes when they should have asked more questions. For the one who doesn’t know their rights yet, but wants to.

That parent deserves good information, simply explained, without a subscription or a law degree.
